This saffron showed up in a gorgeous gift box, and smells great! We used some for saffron rice and it was absolutely divine. Love this stuff!
The strands are a bit on the shorter side than I've gotten, but thick and flavourful. Very beautiful, and perfect for saffron rice. The flavour is excellent and they don't tend to break, even when gently stirred, probably because they're thicker. So pretty. Very, very pleased.
This saffron is of high quality and fresh. It has a delicate, complex flavor with good depth. The aroma is fragrant. The color is vibrant and consistent. This comes packaged in a windowed tin case inside a branded flip-top box. It is highly presentable and would make a wonderful gift. Good stuff.
This Afghan Saffron is a vibrant red color, trumpet shaped, and has a sweet floral aroma and bittersweet flavor just as it should. It leaves a yellowish stain when rubbed between my fingers and doesn't disintegrate like fake saffron would, and it passed the water test with flying colors too (pun intended). This is fairly priced for premium grade saffron, and as genuine as it gets! I plan to use it to my saffron rice to accompany kebabs - yumm!!
I'm impressed with how fresh these saffron smells. It has a light floral scent with a hint of sweetness almost honey-like. The packaging makes it lovely for gifting.
